MOSQUITO BEACH *the Blue Building
How many sites in the Holy City do you know of that are historically owned and ran by the Gullah Community for decades or centuries that are still in operation and recognition today? Not very many. Well this place is an incredible vibe spot that has continuously hosted it’s community throughout time and still is today!! Tis da real Gullah ouchea.
In the historic Gullah community of Sol Legare we welcome you to visit, collect memories, share historic understanding, testimonials, and experience living history. This very building was a historic juke joint back in the day and has hosted countless entertainment events including such performers as James Brown and many long nights of dancing and celebrating each other.
[ EVENTS ] Open to the public: SunsetJamz (Tuesdays 5pm-9pm) and Lez Gizo Kids Club (Tuesdays 5-7)

Membership Gives
You want to contribute to something that means something, that is exciting and ensures the local community thrives rather than being forced out of their ancestral lands and homes.
Every personal membership and every business who has partnered with us as members is co-creating meaningful experiences in service and community together while contributing to local lives thriving here.
50% of every membership goes to our anti-gentrification funding, supportive economics in the Gullah community, and ensuring the future is inclusive rather than gentrifying.
